Pulling Out the Nail

it’s like taking a nail and pounding it into a wall. It’s easy. And it’s also easy to take the
claw end of the hammer and pull out the nail. But then try to pull the hole out. It’s easy to
pull the nail out, but impossible to pull the hole out.
I dare say that many of us have hole in our experiences. Holes that we try to cover up.
Holes that we wish no one would discover. Holes that are shameful. But there’s good
news. There’s hope! Jesus said you can be born again.
The point
Sin is like driving a nail into wood—the nail can be pulled out and forgiven, but the hole remains. Yet Jesus offers the hope of being born again, a fresh start not bound by past marks.
