Injuries, Forgetting

A man who had done Sir Matthew Hale a great injury, went afterwards to him for his advice in the settlement of his estate. He gave it very frankly, but would accept no fee for it. When asked how he could use a man so kindly who had wronged him so much, he answered: “I thank God I have learned to forget injuries.”
