Swimming Against the Current
StoryNature Nugget★★★★The story is told of two men canoeing down a crocodile-infested river. The canoe suddenly capsized, and the men were swept along with the river. The men quickly became separated in the swift water but one of them remembered a lesson he had been taught as a young man. His father had told him that crocodiles typically eat what is floating but rarely attack something that is swimming against the current. Quickly he began swimming upstream and arrived safely on the shore. His friend, however, continued to float with the current and was soon attacked and liked by a hungry crocodile.
