Getting Started Right
Illustration★★★★There is a story told of a four-year-old who had great difficulty persuading the button holes and buttons to come out even on his sweater. Again and again he would find himself at the top with an ex- tra button and no buttonhole. Then one day he made a great discovery!
He found that if he started out right at the bottom that he would come out alright at the top. His problem was that of getting started right by getting the first button in the first button hole. How often we find ourselves in this very situation as we begin a new year. We suddenly realize, as this young boy, that if we don’t begin to make certain adjustments at the beginning of the new year, that our life will come out all wrong.
Let us begin by putting God first in all things as we approach this new year. Remember what Jesus said: “*Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”’
The point
