Privacy Policy

Last updated July 19, 2026

IllustrateTruth helps preachers, teachers, and Bible workers search and organize sermon illustrations, stories, quotes, and related teaching material. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the IllustrateTruth website and account features.

Information We Collect

Account information. If you create an account with an email and password, or sign in with Google, we receive information such as your email address, name, and (from Google, when provided) your profile image. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Profile and preferences. You may save profile details and browsing preferences such as ministry role, denomination, preferred greeting, hidden categories, favorite topics, and display settings.

Usage information. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps, which is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We also keep limited counts of searches and items viewed to run features such as the free-preview limit for signed-out visitors.

How We Use Information

We use this information to sign you in and keep you signed in, remember your preferences, operate features like search and saved items, protect admin-only tools, maintain the security and integrity of the service, respond to your requests, and improve the usefulness of the library. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Service Providers

We use trusted providers to operate the service, including Supabase (authentication and database storage), Vercel (website hosting), and Google (optional Google sign-in). These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services to us and are located in the United States; if you access the service from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the U.S.

Cookies And Sessions

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in and remember account preferences. These are used to operate the site, not to track you across other websites. You can sign out at any time from your account page, and you can clear cookies through your browser settings.

Data Retention

We keep account and profile information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the security of the service.

Your Choices And Rights

You may review and update much of your profile information from your account page. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information associated with your account, or ask a question about how your information is handled, by emailing us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we will honor applicable rights on request.

Children’s Privacy

IllustrateTruth is intended for adult preachers, teachers, and ministry workers. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We rely on reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on administrative tools. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide a more prominent notice.
