From High School Dropout to Medical Student

Can the Bible be hard to read and hard to understand sometimes? Yeah, it can. I still remember when I started reading the Bible for the first time, you know, I wasn’t the sharpest student, I’m gonna be honest.

I kinda got kicked out of high school. You know, I got sent to a continuation school. It used to be called Orangewood. I think it’s called Academy now.

It sounds a lot better. But you know, I got sent to like a continuation.

I know you’re like, wait, didn’t he say he’s in medical school? I know, right? God is good, amen? God has a calling.

He can perform miracles, my friends. I can testify. I should not be in medical school. Is there any teachers here?

No, okay, good, amen. So, I remember when I started studying the Bible, I was not a person who studied.

I worked on cars, I raced cars, That was all I did. So I remember vividly being in my bedroom, reading the Bible, and like 20 minutes in, I’d have like a migraine. I’d like pop an aspirin, right? Now I’d like keep reading the Bible.

I’d like pop another aspirin. And I would go, do not do that, by the way. I learned now that that’s a bad thing. I didn’t know it then.

So I used to just like pop aspirate to try to grind through scripture. And most of the time I would like sit there and read it for a couple hours. And then people would ask me, what did you learn about the Bible today?

I’d be like, I have no idea what I just read. That’s like some crazy stuff. Some guy fell in the pit, tore a leopard in half. I really don’t even know what just happened.

It was a good story, but I don’t understand it. Anyone ever have that problem before?
