Humility
Illustration★★★★★In a certain church some gossip was started about two aged men, saints of God, who had through many years served in that church. It was whispered about that these two were having a fuss with each other and could not agree between themselves. The gossip, like fire, spread and became more defiling in its accusations.
A wise Christian went to the older of the two men and said, “I am so sorry to learn that you and Brother... are not able to get along with each other. It grieves our hearts to hear that you are having such a dispute. Tell me, what is the trouble, so that we may pray about it?”
The saint of God replied, “Yes, it is a very serious dispute between my brother and myself. He claims that he is the weakest and worst of the saints in this church and I claim that I am. I really feel that I am way below him in spiritual vision and in usefulness. He will not have it that way and claims he is way below me. I do not know how we shall get this difficulty settled. We shall just continue to pray about it and let our Lord settle it for us.”

The point
Two aged saints of a church are rumored to be in conflict, but their real 'dispute' is reversed: each insists the OTHER is holier and less sinful than himself—both claiming to be the weakest saint, a picture of true humility.
