The Demoniac's Holistic Healing

I looked at Mark 5, verse 5. It describes the demoniac, Josie, and it says, he’s always night and day. He’s in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out, cutting himself with stones. Sometimes what we bring upon ourself is self-inflicted. And the demoniac possessed with demonic forces was afflicting himself and very often the patients that come into our offices have lifestyle practices in which they place themselves on satanic ground and they afflict themselves, they cut themselves with the stones of abuse. They cut themselves with the stones of neglect of their health, poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of rest. So that impressed me.

The second thing that really impressed me about Mark chapter 5 is When this demoniac runs, and it says in verse 6, when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped him. So there’s a lot of people that come to our office that are cutting themselves with stones, they’re self-afflicting by the habits of their life, and they see Jesus afar. But when they see Christ in us, the Holy Spirit within them that’s working in their heart to lead them to a better lifestyle, they come and they learn to worship.

The next thing, the third thing that I see in that text, and I want you to take a serious look at it, those of you who are studying, who have this particular question, is you remember in verse 15, the story of the demoniac of Mark 5 says, then they came to Jesus and saw the 1 who had been demon possessed and had the Legion sitting and clothed in his right mind. So here’s a demoniac, now he’s sitting and listening to Jesus. Secondly, he’s clothed. Where did he get his clothes? There was nobody out there except Jesus and the disciples. So he’s clothed. Thirdly, it says he’s in his right mind. So here you have spiritual healing. He sits at the feet of Jesus. You have physical healing. He gets clothing, and he’s now in his right mind. So what I see in that is the holistic ministry of Christ.
