What is sin? And why is it so bad? According to the Bible, sin is law-breaking—in this case, the breaking of the Ten Commandments. (See Exodus 20.) These laws were designed by God to protect you and others from wrongdoing. Imagine a world in which everyone kept these commandments. You would never have to lock your door or worry about your daughter playing by herself in the street! We live in a world that sees the breaking of these laws every day. Instead of living in peace and harmony, we often live in fear. That’s just one reason why sin is so very bad.
