Class Consciousness and Hatred
Story★★★★“Class consciousness” is a Marxian word much in the mouths of men who seek to create a new order of society by the suppression of every class but that which comes under the technical definition of the “workers.” “Class consciousness,” as commonly used, is a synonym for “class hatred.” Hatred is explosive, disruptive, destructive. It poisons the mind and heart of the hater. It can only pull down. It is love that builds up. What the world most sorely needs for “the healing of the nations,” and the healing of the warring “classes” alike is not “class consciousness” but “Christ consciousness.”
