Good Communicators
Story★★★There is a story of a young boy who against his will was placed in a family relationship where his mom remarried. Him and his new stepfather did not get along. Their interests were completely different. The stepfather liked to work with cars, the boy liked to sing.
The boy enjoyed writing and his stepfather fishing. Wanting to get closer to the boy, he arranged a four-day fishing trip. Upon arriving the boy wanted so much to tell his step dad that he wanted to go home. Not knowing how to tell him, he got out his pen and wrote his feelings down on paper.
He gave the paper to his step dad. He looked at it and put it in his pocket. They continued there three more days and when he got home he released all his frustrations on his mom, telling her that he wrote in plain words that he wanted to go home, but he just shoved the paper in his pocket and just ignored it.
His mother quietly explained that his stepfather didn’t know how to read. This fact the boy did not know.
