Story★★★The future of a child does not rest so much with itself as with its mother. The child’s good or bad conduct, the child’s happiness or misery, to a very great extent, hangs, I will not say on the wish, but certainly on the training and example of its mother.
The mother is the greatest teacher for good or for evil that the child will ever have, and the scenes, experiences, and lessons of childhood will never be forgotten, and their influence will be felt through all the term of life. When Napoleon Bonaparte complained to a lady as to the flippant and frivolous nature of the education that the young were receiving, and put the question as to who was to blame, the lady’s answer was, “Mothers!”
And the lady was right.
