We Need Regular Rest
Illustration★★★★Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27). God did not hallow and sanctify a day just to force us into submission and obedience. Rather, He set one day apart from the rest for our benefit because He knows how much we need it. We have been created in such a way that we need periods of rest between our activities.
The human heart is an example. It beats regularly at about 72 beats a minute all of our lives. That is more than 4000 beats every hour, more than 100,000 a day and nearly 38 million beats per year—close to 3 billion beats in the average life span. How can it continue to work like that? Because it is the most efficient and long-lasting pump ever devised. Between each of those beats, the heart rests.

The point
Jesus established the Sabbath for human benefit, not obligation; the human heart needs regular rest cycles, just as God designed rest into creation.
