When Prometheus was assaulted by an enemy, an arrow struck a swelling which had threatened his life. The swelling was opened, and so the life of Prometheus was saved. So I think it is the mission of the arrow of sorrow to open great swellings of pride and to cure the diseases of the soul. You never feel your dependence on God, and you never feel your own weakness until you have trouble.
