The mother expressed her appreciation by noting that she didn’t know that her daughter knew how to make tea. Her daughter responded by stating that she remembered how her mother made it.
She told of putting tea leaves into the pan, then placing water into the pan and boiling it. When it was ready, she strained the water into the cup.
However, she explained that since she could not locate the tea strainer, she had used the fly swatter instead. But, she told her mom not to worry: “I didn’t use the new fly swatter, I used the old one.”
The point
A sick mother is delighted when her young daughter brings her tea made using a fly swatter as a strainer, demonstrating creative adaptation and sweet childish logic.
