Fear
Story★★★★An air pilot in the U.S. Navy was involved in much enemy action during World War II. Again and again he risked his life in aerial combat, with unusual courage. Nor did he fear to motorcycle across the continent at high speed to visit his home on furlough. But one winter, when invited by a friend to go skiing, he said with a shudder, “You wouldn’t catch me on skis. They’re too dangerous. A fellow could get hurt on them!” A fearless pilot afraid of skiing! It seems strange, and yet not so strange. Actually, he was afraid of the unknown, as are most people. It is to all who face this basic fear that Jesus says, “Be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid.”
