Peter the Great

Russia and in lowly disguise apprenticed himself as a shipwright in the towns of
Zaandam and Amsterdam. Among the common laborers he wrought, dressed in working
clothes, living in a hut, preparing his own food, and making his own bed.
In like manner Jesus laid aside the glory of heaven and came to the earth in the likeness
of men. Divinity was veiled with humanity. But someday He will come all glorious, the
Lord victorious, before whom all evil shall forever flee away.
The point
Peter the Great left his throne to work as a common laborer; similarly Jesus veiled His divine glory in human form, though He will return gloriously.
