A parable in utero
Parable★★★★In the womb the twins began to chat,
One day, out of the darkness, one of them asked the other, “Is there life beyond all of this?”
“Yes, of course there is,” the other twin said. “There has to be something beyond our existence here. Maybe our purpose here is to prepare for what will come later.”
“That doesn’t make sense,” his brother said. “There is no life beyond us. If so, what would it look like?”
“I’m not sure exactly, but it will be a brighter world than here. Maybe we’ll walk with our legs and eat from our mouths.”
“No way! That is ridiculous! Walking would be impossible. And the thought of eating with our mouths is just silly. Our umbilical cords provide our nutrition. Dismiss the thought, Twin, there is no existence beyond us.”
“You think that this is all there is? Nothing else. Surely there is something more wonderful, something different, something to look forward to.”
In doubt the other twin responded, “Think about it, brother, no one has ever seen it, no one has come back to tell about it. Life ends at delivery with no hope.”
“Well, I don’t agree... I can’t agree. I believe we will eventually see Mother and she will take care of us.”
“Mother?!” You believe in Mother? If she exists, where is she now?”
“She is all around us. It is because of her that we live and move and have our being. Without her there would not be this world. We will live with her someday soon, and see her face to face”
“Well, I don’t see her, so it is only logical that she doesn’t exist.”
After this, the faithful little one responded, “When you are really quiet you can hear her speaking to us. It is her voice that gives us a peaceful assurance. I believe with my whole heart, that there is a whole reality after delivery, and we are to prepare ourselves for that day.”
Jesus is coming soon, friends. He longs to be reunited with us. If we prepare now, and are faithful unto the end, He will raise us in the resurrection of the just and we shall see His face. Are you ready?
“And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:9.

The point
Twins debating in the womb whether there is life after birth serve as a parable for skepticism about life after death, urging readers to trust in what cannot yet be seen — the coming of Jesus — the way an unborn child might trust in an unseen 'Mother.'
