Dance Club
IllustrationStory★★★★A young Christian girl was coming to series of meeting just like this one. The preacher was talking about going to dance clubs and the dangers that are there. She heard this sermon and came up to the preacher and said, “I don’t agree with that. I think I can go to the club and dance and still be a Christian.”
The preacher said, “Really, what positive influence can you be for Christ there?” “I can be an influence for Christ there in the club!” “Really” She said, absolutely!”
Once she said that she felt like she had to prove it. That night after the meeting she got all dressed up and went to club and was dancing.
She was on the dance floor w/ a young man and the message that night was burning in her mind. She told him that she could witness at the club and she felt like she had to prove it, and so she asked the man she was dancing with, “Are you a Christian?” And he stopped dead in his electric slide and said, “No are you?” She said, “Yes I am.”
And he said, “Then what are you doing in a place like this?”
The point
A girl insists she can witness in a nightclub but is silenced by a stranger asking what she's doing there—her hypocrisy is exposed.
