All That Is Past Is Prologue

The cur- tain of our great history is just about to rise on the real play which is to follow. Our past is but a small beginning; the world of events lies out ahead of us and we are to have a great part in the destiny of the entire world.
Once I talked with Henry Ford about this very matter, and this is what he said: ‘We, here in this nation, are just beginning! We have the whole of eternity before us.
What we have done in inven- tion and industry is just a drop in the bucket. Our real future is ahead of us. I have faith in the future!” That came from an eighty-two-year-old man, and when he said it his eyes lighted up with a strange light of sunrise.
