She had a dream in which she was standing in front of a thick pane of glass, and she could see God standing on the other side. She pounded on the glass as hard as she could in order to attract God’s attention. But her efforts ended in failure. This dream occurred many times. And each time the woman grew more and more desperate to get God to notice her. She began to cry out to Him, shrieking at the top of her voice. Finally, in her last such dream, a gentle voice spoke to her, say- ing, “Why are you making such a fuss? Don’t you realize there is nothing between us?”
