Where did sin come from?
Illustration★★★Where did sin come from? Did God create evil? The Bible tells us that Lucifer was once the highest angel in heaven, standing next to the throne of God (Ezekiel 28:12–17). The Lord created all beings with the freedom to obey or disregard His laws, yet this angel became jealous of God’s power and rulership and began to rebel in his heart (Isaiah 14:12–15). He eventually deceived one third of the angels of heaven and was cast down to this earth (Revelation 12:9). The devil has been given a period of time to display what a kingdom under him would look like. But soon, Jesus will come to completely destroy all sin, including Satan, forever (Revelation 20:10).
The point
Lucifer, once the highest angel, grew jealous of God's authority, rebelled, deceived a third of the angels, and was cast to earth -- but Jesus will one day destroy sin and Satan forever.
