The Victory at Nicea

Bauer, the celebrated head of the Tubingen School, who said that Christianity would have lost its claim as the universal religion of mankind, if at the Council of Nicca, AJ>. ^25, Anus, who denied the Godhead of Christ, had gained the victory over Atlianasius. Willi the Godhead of our Saviour would have fallen our faith in the Triune God, and with it Christianity would have been hurled down from its lofty position as the only true religion.
Truly the doctrine of the Trinity IS the rock foundation of our blessed religion. In our denominational life we may cherish special principles, which we find in the Holy Scriptures, but with all the Christians, dwelling in all the lands of the earth, we put our trust in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The point
The Council of Nicaea's defense of Christ's Godhead against Arian denial preserved the Trinity as Christianity's foundation; its loss would have collapsed the faith.
