As the blood spurted out, he demanded the person of the slave, saying he had bought him by his suffering. To this the former master ruefully agreed. As the latter walked away, this slave threw himself at the feet of his deliver, exclaiming, “The blood-bought is now the slave of the son of pity. He will serve him faithfully.”
