Give God the Keys
IllustrationAnalogy★★★★THERE is a campaign designed to address the epidemic of drunk driving that we have in this country. It simply says, “If you drink, don’t drive.” The idea is that people will choose to give their keys to someone else and let them drive when they are not sober enough to drive home.
When a person is drunk, their senses have been dulled and their ability to control things has been lost. The campaign encourages a person to give their keys to someone else who is totally under control. This world has intoxicated us, and sometimes causes us to lose our equilibrium. God is saying that we should give Him the keys to our lives, let Him steer and let Him take control so that we can safely get to where we ought to be.
The point
Believers must surrender control to God the way drunk drivers give keys to sober friends. Lost equilibrium requires a trusted pilot.
