The Ficus Fig and the Temptation Sermon
Story★★★Some churches have live plants in the chancel. I used a plant for a sermon from John 15:5, ‘I am the vine, and you are the branches.’ Perhaps I overdid it by pruning the ficus fig (verse 2) because one member told me that it was not the right time of the year. However, the ficus fig survived and with a toy snake in its branches worked well for a sermon on Genesis 3 about the first temptation.
