Saying / Proverb★★★

O God, Source of all harmony and strength: we bow our heads in loving devotion unto thee and lift our voices in praise and thanksgiving unto thy holy name. Enable us to know thee better, O our Father, that thy will may be done in us. Temper us by thy health-giving spirit that our bodies may be disciplined that we may know the radiant vitality that comes from true obedience to thy will. Save us from surrender to vicious appetites that weaken and destroy, separating us from one another and from thee.

Restrain us, O God, from the selfish use of our powers and impulses, and free us from all enslavement save to thee alone. Fill us, our Father, with that life which is from thee that we may appreciate those things which are good for us and for all people. May food and drink, the good fruits of thy good earth, remain ever our servants and never our masters, that our bodies may be efficient and our minds sensitive to thy truth and our souls responsive to thy redeeming love.

May our lives truly become temples of thy spirit. Grant us to know by experience the harmonious way of living that enlarges thy image in us and brings that peace which passeth all human understanding. In the name of Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Saviour, whom we would have live in us and work through us in thy holy service, we offer unto thee our earnest prayer. Amen.
