Pull Up and Pull Over at McDonald's

I CONFESS I pull up to McDonald’s every now and then. Over the years, I’ve learned something about McDonald’s. They are not prepared if you order something different or abnormal. They’ve got a mass production system going in there and anything that you order out of the ordinary throws them off.

So if you want a Number Three, you are supposed to order a Number Three and say nothing else. Once, I decided that I wanted a little special configuration in my dining. After paying, I was promptly told to pull up and pull over.

In other words, I would have to wait. I had asked for something special, and they weren’t prepared and ready for that. They needed more time to prepare my special request. So I pulled up and pulled over to the side.

I had to wait a few minutes, but the wait was worth it! The fries were hot and my order was just the way I wanted it. If you want run-of-the-mill living, then just keep on like you’re going.

Drive through, and get what everybody else gets. But if you want something special, something designed just for you with your name written on it, you’ve got to pull over to the side and let God work on your special request.

He takes time to deliver something with your name on it.
