Not Unlearned and Ignorant
Historical Account★★★Though not taughtin the schools,yet therewas a materialsense in which theywerenot unlearnedand ignorantmen. Theyhad been under a farmore important training than that oftheRabbins. For three years they had been underthe personal direction of Christ Himself; and, on theday of Pentecost, they weredirectly andmiraculously endowed by the Hoiy Ghostwith the power ofspeakingwith tongues. Theirexample should not,therefore, be pleaded in favourof an unlearnedministry.

The point
The disciples, though not formally schooled, were educated by Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, so their example should not be used to argue for an uneducated ministry.
