The Tied-Down Balloon
IllustrationAnalogy★★★★BEFORE a balloon is filled with air or helium, it has no life. However, once helium fills a balloon it has the potential to fly high. Most of the time when we go to buy balloons at a carnival or a circus, we look for the ones that are filled with helium and ready for purchase. Those balloons are not flying around because the vendor, to keep them available for sale, ties them down. They will be tied to something intended to keep them on the ground. Many Christians are aware of the power of the Spirit they have inside but are tied down. They can’t fly high because they are tied down. Walking in the flesh keeps them from experiencing their potential to fly high.

Christians with spiritual power are tied down by their flesh; they must be filled with the Spirit and released to experience their potential to fly.
