The West couldn’t go East. The two could never work together, because there was a lofty thing, a wall, or a partition that divided the same group of people, the Germans, East from West. There could never be unification and flow. The people in the East were trapped. They couldn’t go West. People in the West were trapped. They couldn’t get to their families back in the East—all because of a lofty thing, a wall, which had been erected.

The Berlin Wall separated and imprisoned people; divisions and walls in human relationships trap us and prevent unity and flow.
