Bruce the Airman

Bruce was a Christian in the U.S. Air Force. Having a burden for his fellow soldiers, he offered Bible studies. At the same time in his trailer park, a neighbor’s wife had been offering studies to him and his wife.

He always had a reason why he couldn’t. Then a prophecy seminar began, and the neighbor’s wife encouraged them to attend.

Again, there were the usual reasons for not being able to attend. One night while the neighbor’s wife went over to invite them to the prophecy seminars, Bruce arrived at home from work with a fallen countenance. “What is the problem?” Asked the neighbor.

“It is just too bad that I have something wonderful to offer, and people don’t seem to care about it,” Bruce responded. “Well, now you know how I feel,” responded the neighbor. “What do you mean?” Bruce questioned.

“I have been inviting you to this wonderful set of lectures and you have not attended,” she said. Looking over at his new bride, Bruce said, “What are we doing tonight?” “Nothing,” responded his wife. “OK,” Bruce said, “we are going.”

As the neighbor happily rushed home to inform her husband of the good news, she froze. “Oh no,” she thought, “tonight is the topic of the Antichrist.

This couple does not have the proper background to hear such a strong message.” When she told her husband of her concerns, they earnestly prayed that the Lord would overrule.

As Bruce heard the message unfold, it seemed as if he was entranced. Then at the conclusion of the presentation, the speaker made an appeal for those present to accept the truth as it was in Jesus and follow Him.

Bruce bolted out of his seat, went forward to the altar, and that night requested to be baptized immediately. For the first time in his life, the Bible and its prophecies made sense. The missing link had been found. All the bewilderment about why so many different Christian churches finally vanished.

All the confusion as to why there were so many contradictory practices in Christianity that did not go along with the Scriptures finally became unraveled.
