Following the Shepherd

The boys were good friends and often called to each other across the valley. One day a severe storm arose suddenly, and the boys took refuge under a ledge with their sheep.
But when the storm was over, and it was time to go home, the boys had a problem; they could not separate the sheep. They knew some of the sheep, but they were not sure about the others.
Finally in desperation, and fearful that they would be scolded, they started for home— one going down one path and the other down another. And what happened? The sheep separated themselves perfectly, each sheep following his own shepherd.
