Living in a Lawless Neighborhood

TestimonyStory★★★★

You know, I grew up in LA and at night, at night, the police would not come into my neighborhood unless there was a whole bunch of them. You would not see one or two squad cars in my neighborhood because it wasn’t safe for them. If they came into my neighborhood, and it was rare, there was a whole bunch of them that would come. Law wasn’t very highly esteemed in my neighborhood.

In fact, when we were growing up, and Dr. John, if we were too lazy to go to the dump to drop off a TV set that didn’t work, we knew just to leave it on the porch. The next day it was gone. We didn’t live in that neighborhood very long before we knew he didn’t leave anything outside.

And so if we didn’t want something, that’s how we’d get rid of it. We just left it out there. It disappeared. You do not want to live somewhere where there is no law.

It is not safe. Our God, friends, is a God of order. He is intelligent there isn’t a nation out there that would do away with its own laws and For us to think that God would do that is very demeaning God would not do that. God is a God of order.

The point

The preacher recounts growing up in an LA neighborhood where law was not esteemed, and items left outside would disappear, illustrating the chaos and unsafety of a lawless environment. This highlights that God, as a God of order, would not do away with His own laws, as they are essential for safety and structure.
