Illustration★★★★A man, while touring Italy, visited a cathedral that had been completed on the outside only. When the man entered the cathedral, he found an artist kneeling before an enormous wall upon which he had just begun to create a mosaic.
On some tables nearby there were thousands of pieces of colored ceramic. Speaking in the language of the Italian artist, the visitor asked how he would ever finish such a large project. The artist answered that he knew how much he could accom- plish in one day.
Therefore, each morning he marked off an area to be completed that day, and he didn’t worry about what remained outside that space. He would take one day at a time.
That was the best he could do. And if he did his best, one day the mosaic would be finished.
There is only so much we can do in one day to improve our lives and advance toward our fulfillment as human persons. To grow we need only make each day count, one day at a time.
