But this journey that I take every day is through the streets of a large city. You will now wonder how it is that I can see a brook in walking through a crowded residence and business sec- tion of a large city and yet I do. The brook is fed by a spring and you cannot choke up a spring by building a large city around it. It is in the nature of that spring to overflow.
I think that the true Christian life is like that. It is in our heart, in the very heart of us, to overflow in service to others and you cannot prevent our doing so until you can stop the hidden sources of our supply. To express it differently, you cannot stop our service until you can prevent God from giving us the spiritual life that overflows in service for others. How wonderful it is to know that no man can stop our source of supply.
