Buy the Beggar Food
IllustrationAnalogy★★★★MANY of us have passed by beggars on the street and seen their signs, which read “Hungry,” or “Help, need food.” We’ve all, at one point or another, passed these people by. There’s really one major way you can tell if they are hungry, and that is offer to take them and buy them food. Not just give them money. It is possible that they could be hungry for something else, like Jack Daniels or one of his cousins or even drugs. A lot of people are hungry for the wrong thing and are distracted from righteousness, although it is the only thing that can truly satisfy the soul.
The point
When helping the needy, offer specifically what they claim to need rather than money; this reveals if they're spiritually hungry for righteousness or seeking to satisfy destructive desires.
