Lady in Hungary Who Lost Three Loved Ones in One Year

A lady in Hungary, the principal of a school, was attending a Bible seminar. One night the subject of the dead was presented. As the speaker looked in her direction, he noticed tears running down her face. At the conclusion of the meeting as the pastor was shaking the hands of the attendees who were leaving the meeting hall, the lady approached him.

“How are you?” asked the speaker. “I am relieved,” she replied.

“Relieved about what?” asked the speaker. “This year has been a very hard year for me. First, I lost my husband. Then I lost my daughter, and finally my granddaughter died.

I feared they were either suffering as they saw me suffer my great losses, or suffering in purgatory or hell. In either case, I was greatly troubled. Thank you so much.” Having said that, she left.

The next night, she returned. Gone was the troubled look, and a sense of peace pervaded her. After the meeting, the speaker said, “I see that something is different about you.”

“Yes,” she said, “last night was the first night I was able to sleep for several months. I am comforted to know that my loved ones are not suffering, but rather resting in peace.”
