If There Is a Devil, There Must Be a God

An elderly gentleman walked into a church during the mid- week service. As he sat to listen, he was entranced with the whole presentation. The subject that the visiting minister presented was about spiritualism’s spread in these last days. At the conclusion of the sermon, the man approached the speaker and requested an audience.

After the speaker had dismissed the people, he sat with the man and listened. “I grew up as a Christian,” he began, “but when I was about nineteen years old, I left the church and turned my back on religion.

After I finished college, I got married and went into business. I became successful and have lived a full life with my wife. After fifty years of marriage, my wife passed away two weeks ago.

It was the greatest loss of my life. While still in deep grief, just yesterday something strange happened. “As I was sitting on the edge of my bed thinking over my life and my great loss, suddenly I felt a strange sensation. It seemed as if someone sat next to me—I could feel the mattress giving way.

Cautiously and slowly I turned my head. As I looked at the spot next to me, there was a depression on the bed that took the shape of a human impress. Trembling, I jumped off the bed and moved quickly away from it. Looking back, there was the impressed form still on the bed.

“Then suddenly, a Bible text came to my mind that I had forgotten for years. “The dead know not anything.’ So I thought if there is a devil, there must be a God. As a result, I decided, after all those years of my wilderness wanderings, to come back to God.”
