Waiting Upon God
Illustration★★★★How does the soul wait upon God? We go to the art gallery. There is a certain picture that we wish to see to get from it all that we can of meaning and inspiration. Do we do that by just rushing past it? Oh, no! We have literally to wait in its presence, to sit down in front of it, to let it speak to our innermost soul. Just so it is with God. We have to open our souls to him, to let his personality invade ours. “Be still, and know that I am God.”’ In this: Lenten season let us be still and come to know God.
