Woman and the Judgment

Once there was a woman, a wicked woman who heard the preaching of the gospel and tried to avoid it. She said, “Ill never go down to that place again.” “The preacher used that word “judgment” “I don’t like to hear those words “the judgment”, “the judgment.” “I don’t want a judgment.

I don’t want to have to face a judge” I can’t think of a judgment. I won’t think of a judgment.” So she went on and plunged into sin deeper yet. She went to the theatre every night.

She drank more and more. She bought her cigarettes by the carton. She went into drugs, she was nervous. She got worse.

Finally she took some sleeping pills and tried to go to sleep. But she’d wake up and the old clock down the hall, instead of saying “tick tock”, “tick tock”, “tick tock”, it said, “The judgment”, “The judgment.”

It seemed to her she couldn’t escape it, the judgment. Oh the judgment! How shall we appear in the judgment? I must not appear there without an advocate.

I must not appear there with no one to plead my case. I know that if I try to lead my own case with my merits, I’m lost. I’m helpless for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I must have someone who is able to step in and take my place before God.

I must have an advocate who’s my lawyer. Oh friend there is in this old book of statements “Whosoever shall confess me before men shall I confess before my Father, which is in heaven” (Matt 10:32) In that judgment I want Jesus to step in and say, “Yes Father, I represent Him, He did all that, he’s guilty of everything written down in the book, but Father, I’ve paid that debt, here’s My blood Father.

I’ve paid it for him and he has accepted it. He’s my client. Won’t it be wonderful to see the whole record wiped out? There is nothing there against him.

It’s all been blotted out by the blood of Jesus. Yes friends with Jesus as representative we shall stand in the judgment as though we had never sinned.
