Larry

Larry had gone into the world to gain the most from it. By the time he was fifty, he had built quite a financially comfortable life. There were times when his conscience would trouble him.

But he justified himself that he was living a good life. He now owned several motels. Everything that life could offer, he had. But the words of the Lord became more and more real.

“What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and loose his own soul. Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul” (Mark 8:36, 37). Nothing seemed to give him inner peace. Larry sensed he needed something that materialism could not supply.

Then one day a prophecy seminar came to his town. Upon hearing about it, Larry decided to attend. From night to night, he listened as if spellbound. Old feelings for God seemed to revive.

A welling-up in his throat like a knot came to him one night. He could fight it no more. Larry realized what he was missing; why it was that nothing seemed to satisfy him. When the appeal was made, Larry headed for the altar.

Broken in spirit, and remorseful, he at last decided to return to his God. It was so good to go home, he thought. Larry immediately began to turn away from all that had turned him away from God. At last, Larry had regained that which he had lost for so long—his peace of mind and heart.
